On June 18, Canadian living legend Buffy Sainte-Marie will deliver a public Artist Talk at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (NMC), to coincide with the launch of her retrospective exhibition, Buffy Sainte-Marie: Pathfinder
Pathfinder presents a rare and unique window into the evolution of one of the early innovators of digital art starting with the purchase of her first Macintosh personal computer in 1984. It is presented by NMC in partnership with Paquin Entertainment and will be at Studio Bell from June 3 to August 1.
On June 18, Canadian living legend Buffy Sainte-Marie will deliver a public Artist Talk at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (NMC), to coincide with the launch of her retrospective exhibition Buffy Sainte-Marie: Pathfinder, which opened to the public on June 3. The Cree singer-songwriter will discuss the exhibition and the stories behind her digital artworks.

Designed by Paprika and printed by Lowe-Martin, the stamp features a photograph by Simon Fowler that appeared on the cover of Sainte-Marie’s 1992 album Coincidence and Likely Stories.

On Saturday, November 6, 2021, during National Native American Heritage Month, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures brought together Native American and Indigenous community leaders and filmmakers for an evening to celebrate the museum’s commitment to showcasing the work of Native American and Indigenous film artists. In attendance as special guests were Native American film artists, Tantoo Cardinal, Robbie Robertson, Wes Studi and Buffy Sainte-Marie. The evening was kicked off with a blessing by Tongva Spiritual Leader Jimi Castillo.
The Academy Museum is the largest institution in the United States devoted to the arts, sciences and artists of moviemaking. The museum advances the understanding, celebration and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections.
Buffy Sainte-Marie will be in conversation at this year’s virtual edition of the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience, on Sunday, September 26 AT 2:30PM MT (previously scheduled for Friday, September 24).
Buffy will also receive the AFMX Robert & Sibylle Redford Award for Creative Achievement, for her tireless energy towards promoting positivity in a troubled world and for her impactful contributions as an activist. The award ceremony will occur Sunday, September 26 at 7:00PM MT.
The Albuquerque Film & Music Festival takes place virtually over September 20 – 26. It is an annual interactive film and music festival that celebrates domestic and international movies, engaging industry panels and workshops, exciting networking events, parties, live music, and more.
