This virtual event is free admission, please register to attend!

The FOLD launched the first literary festival devoted to celebrating underrepresented authors and storytellers in 2016 in Brampton, Ontario, and continues to provide an important space for writers to discuss their craft and the challenges involved in creating stories that ask difficult questions, expose hard truths and push literary boundaries.

Visit FOLD Kids Book Fest schedule for a complete list of readings and workshops.

This virtual jam session will stream online Friday, May 29 at 8pm ET, and will be hosted by Halifax’s own Joel Plaskett, joined by Buffy, City and Colour, and Sarah Harmer.

Normally a highlight of JUNO Week, which was cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the JUNOs Songwriters’ Circle has traditionally gathered some of Canada’s finest singer-songwriters for an informal jam session of songs and stories. In the absence of that perennially popular event, CBC Music has decided to produce something similar, but with musicians and their guests performing in their homes rather than onstage.

Be sure to tune in!
