“Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” Soundtrack

Buffy Sainte-Marie’s recording of “The Circle Game” will appear in the new Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

The film visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from writer-director Quentin Tarantino features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

Written by Joni Mitchell, “The Circle Game” was first recorded and popularized by Buffy Sainte-Marie.
The recording originally appears on Buffy’s 1967 album Fire & Fleet & Candlelight, and also appears on the soundtrack for the 1970 motion picture The Strawberry Statement.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood and its official soundtrack will be released on Friday, July 26.
