Buffy Sainte-Marie will participate in a keynote interview at the 2021 edition of Canadian Music Week, hosted virtually over May 18 to 21.

In this keynote interview, titled Up Where She Belongs, Buffy will sit down virtually with Andrea Warner, author of Buffy Sainte-Marie: The Authorized Biography, to discuss Buffy’s experience about her realization of music as a vehicle of change.

This virtual keynote will take place Friday, May 21 at 1:00pm ET

Buffy will also receive CMW’s 2021 Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award.

Buffy Sainte-Marie will speak on the topic of Survivance at the third annual Indigenous Healing Festival, hosted by Indigenous Ways in partnership with Tewa Women United, the Institute of American Indian Arts, and the Santa Fe Indian School.

This is a virtual festival, occurring over the weekend of May 8 & 9. Programming begins each day at 11:00am MT (1:00pm ET / 10:00am PT).

Buffy Sainte-Marie will virtually meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama during a historic online event called “Be The Love for ONE Better World”, courtesy of One Better World Collective. This is a live streamed event occurring at 11:30pm ET / 8:30 pm PT on Sunday, April 11 (April 12 for viewers in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania).

Recognizing that global change can only occur at the heart and consciousness level of every individual, Buffy and other global change-makers will be asking His Holiness practical questions to help steer humanity on a path of universal responsibility and greater mindfulness.

Buffy will be joined at this event by other performers/activists such as Killer Mike, Coeur de Pirate, Emmanuel Jal, Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, Massey Whiteknife, and many more. The event will be hosted by award-winning author and biographer to the Dalai Lama, Sofia Stril-Rever.

Buffy Sainte-Marie and a star-studded lineup of Canadian talent will appear on the 16th annual Andy Kim Christmas Special Presented by Air Miles, in support of Food Banks Canada, CAMH Foundation Gifts of Light, and Crew Nation.

This special will air across Canada Saturday, December 19 at 8:00pm local time on City TV, and will live stream on CityTV.com. Audiences outside of Canada can tune into the global live stream hosted by Live Nation at 8:00pm EST.

Hosted by Sportsnet host and Juno-nominated musician Tara Slone, as well as Cityline host Tracy Moore, this one-of-a-kind charity event will treat Canadians to a classic variety entertainment show that includes performances by some of the country’s most sought-after singer songwriters and performers.

Due to Australia’s international border restrictions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Buffy Sainte-Marie’s Australian tour performances in April 2021 will not go forward as scheduled.

Byron Bay Bluesfest will go forward on April 1-5 with an all-Australian lineup, and ticket holders will be contacted directly regarding their options.

Ticket holders for Buffy Sainte-Marie’s performance at the Melbourne Recital Centre on April 1 are advised to wait for more information from Bluesfest Touring.

Buffy Sainte-Marie’s 1964 debut album It’s My Way! has won the 2020 Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize.

The Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize honours Canadian albums of the past from four distinct time periods: 1960-75, 1976-85, 1986-95 and 1996-05. Like the Polaris Music Prize, winners and nominees for the Heritage Prize are albums of the artistic distinction, without regards to sales or affiliations.

In addition to It’s My Way!, honours were given to albums by Beverly Glenn-Copeland, and Main Source. Find out more information about this prestigious honour.

Buffy Sainte-Marie will read her brand new children’s book Hey Little Rockabye – A Lullaby for Pet Adoption during this year’s (virtual) edition of FOLD Kids Book Fest, presented by The Festival of Literary Diversity (The FOLD).

FOLD Kids Book Fest takes place virtually over October 3 and October 4, 2020. Buffy Sainte-Marie’s reading will be live streamed on Sunday, October 4 at 6:00pm ET over Zoom.
